Downtown Disney

The twisted, wicked, and not so perfectly princess parts of Downtown Disney in Orlando. Make sure to look closely at the roots of the tree and a bit higher because there is a lizard hiding on the right hand side. They were literally everywhere in Orlando. More from my trip very soon.

Paradise, thats what she said to me..

There's something calm about this summer. The winds of change are blowing but it seems more like a breeze than a strong force. I've enjoyed my summer of long nights and lazy mornings with my boyfriend. Hiking in the Sweet Woods, eating fresh fruit as much as possible, reading and thinking in the sunlight- I have to admit I'm going to miss this summer. At the very end of August, I have to give up the only job I've ever known and loved, move into my dorm room- with my wonderful roommate Rebecca, and begin a completely new passage in my life. This summer has taught me that independence is a good thing though, and I'm not worried. I don't really worry about anything anymore, it is what it is. My mind is on me, and what interests me, the people that inspire me. My blog is going to reflect that.
Freshmen year is all about new beginnings, and new faces but no matter what I'm me and that changes for nobody.

Left over from summer, I miss the nature trips. This was when we went to the Indian Caves.

Sugar Rush

All the clothes and accessories come from my closet. This is Julissa. She has the soul of a rockstar, and loves to raid my stuff. The cheetah print top has amazing ruffles all around the collar, it's from Papaya. Purple tights; Forever21, Cutoff Purple Glove; Hot Topic, Bracelets & earrings; Flea Market. The silver bracelet is actually has a lion head and a lion paw as the clasps. Love it, love the whole outfit.

Fall Fashion Muse

Most television shows lack real creativity or imagination. It's season after season of the same fame obsessed trashy type of people, celebrities, and "reality" t.v. I can't stand it but I do have a weakness for television dramas like Mad Men. Set in the '60s world of advertisement, affairs, and New York City the show is addicting to watch. Of course I'm drawn to the Great Gatsby-esque story lines but at times even more so the style. Is it any surprise when it was the era of Jackie O, and Marilyn Monroe? I haven't been the only one to notice apparently, Banana Republic "Mad" ads and articles on the Mad Men cast & costumes have been everywhere. It's my inspiration for Fall. There is a grand emphasis on shape and a sort of glamour or feminine mystique that has been lost.

Faith 21

Personally I think back to school shopping is like icing for a cardboard cake, but I never turn down shopping. During my trips I found alot to fall in love with, like Forever 21's many new collections. They have the glamourous Cirque collection with a nice selection of tulle skirts everywhere. Faith 21 is a plus size version of Forever's fashion, with the same affordable prices, just an extension of the size chart. It is only available at certain XXI stores, like the one on Michigan Avenue where I saw it. The store listings or entire collection can be found on the Forever 21 website along with the other lines like Love 21 and Twelve by Twelve. Check them out!

Summer Style

I know I need to update! I seriously have been having technical difficulties though.. I'm going to update more often I promise. So some news: "It's on with Alexa Chung" is a seriously awesome show. Fashion: I'm inspired by summer dresses, cowgirl boots, and bubble gum pink lately. I've been really into the feminine feel. Sweet, chic, and simple has been my taste. It's summer, I want to rock things I can relax in.
Frozen grapes, iced tea, and a long kiss on a hot day xox
